Hi Steve:
I remember the Ringling Circus World. I performed there in the 70's. It was so great there. Too bad it went under.
We're doing lot's of dates in Sept at Fairs & Festivals. Just got back from Illinois. I did my Aerial strait jacket escape suspended upside down over the river off the bridge from a burning rope on Sat, Sept 5th.
I still have a few copies of that Circus World brochure in my collection.
Great hearing back. Note: the Cristinai family biography by Richard H. has many discrepancies and certainly not the easiest story-line to follow, which you will soon find out. I remember the rather stuffy writer/college professor following the show collecting information for his project during one of the most stressful periods when the Cristinai show was in a spiraling downfall. Quite frankly, his timing was off ... and, speaking in his defense, the family was not all that cooperative so he was definitely working at a disadvantage.
I'm thrilled that you are enjoying Spangles and I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your dear father. May God bless him. In truth, I've never gotten over the death of my own parents. That terrible period is detailed in the Epilogue. Please know that I consider it an honor that your dad was able to enjoy the read before he passed. Keep in touch.
All the best,
Vickie

Yes Steve, as far as I am concerned he was the best, but this is my opinion only. I remember in the rehearsals 2 weeks before the show I spend 1 week in a warehouse he rented and we all were sitting on the floor in a circle and I was amazed what he could do with silver dollars and other stuff. Just sitting there within 2 feet and not seeing how he does it. Noe the illusions is an other story, I know how they all go. I also spend 1 summer here at Knotts Berry Farm with Mark Kalin ( his first decent gig) and a tiger he rented from a former friend of mine.before he got his bigger job in Reno.
Steve,
Yes these were the good old day's. No PETA retarded idiots around and just plain hard work, lots of travel and meeting great people all over. Yes Henry and Werner were on the same boat that brought us over here in November 1969 with Gunther and all of the Williams Circus animals. I know Henry is retired and living and loving it in New Zealand. Over the years I lost contact with many of the original bunch. Sometimes I wonder where everyone is and if they are still alive. Going thru my garage I even found the Elephant planket from when I did the Doug Henning WORLD OF MAGIC show with him and Michael London as host and Ricky Jay as guest magician. This was when on the beginning of the show, Doug made the elephant disappear and reappear on the end of the 1 hour special. This show was live on NBC TV I believe Christmas eve 1976. Time just goes by too fast, like a song from Kenny Chesney .. 'Don't Blink'
Have a great day and I am sure you enjoy Larry Tetzlaff's book. He was a very good man, I worked for him a few years.

Steve,
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments. I deeply appreciate them. The most rewarding thing about all the years of hard work with animals, was some of the great folks it gave you the opportunity to meet. I wish you all the very best, and if there is anything I can do to be of service, please let me know.
Regards,
Wade Burck
